Autumn Trends: 3 ways to get that snug autumn atmosphere…

Autumn has been here for a while now, and its getting colder and colder! Sad times!

Yesterday London had the biggest storm, St. Jude, that we have had in a long while,. (Why they name a storm, I have no clue lol)  My fence got in a bit of a state but nothing that can’t be fixed.

But anyway!! What I love about autumn/winter is the cosy aura that comes with it, it’s such a mellow season. I love that crisp feeling when you step out. But what I love most is going home knowing its going to be nice and snug! So that brings me to Autumn Trends for the home!

1. Well I am definitely not going to suggest changing your sofa all in the name of autumn (LOL) but you can add some seasonal cushions / throws to make it that bit more autumn-y! Here are some suggestions..

This is a cushion with a rural Toile de Jouy scene printed on it. Toile de Jouy means anything with a characteristic floral, figure, or landscape design, which is ideal for autumn right ? The cushion has teal embroidered highlights to add some shade and texture. A perfect pair to this would be a plain teal cushion which would further highlight the colour.

One of the most cutest items I have found so far! I saw this first on Interior Thinking’s blog. It is quite deer in my opinion but then again it is hand knitted !

Floor crotchet knit cushions! Or you could use them on your sofas.

Some nice thick throws for your sofa from cheap and cheerful Ikea.

2. Lighting. I find that dim lighting is very autumn-y! As it gets dark quite quickly try making use of candles or lamps to create a cosy setting.

3. Wreath. You can’t have autumn without a wreath !!! :p

The first picture was made by another blogger : Little Lovelies by Allison’s blog. I love it! Maybe I am biased because my name begins with M ?
